Letter C - C is for Candy , Caterpillars and Cooking

Halloween was right around the corner so we took advantage of C is for candy. We did an ABC chart where they looked through their LOADS of candy to find the correct starting letter. FUN and they loved it. Great for my twin 3 year olds and my Kindergartener. We also made giant cut-put C's and they glued on candy. We also made graphs, that I was SURE (obviously NOT!!!) that I photographed and they graphed up to 8. Types of Candy along the bottom, Numbers up the side and then the bag I gave them to sort, lay on, glue on and they record the number of each type of candy. Super fun. Gabe the Kindergartener was able to do independently. The twins- not yet, but great with some support.
We also did some marshmellow art on black and we learned about BONES. They loved the book DEM BONES! So fun and silly- and then we did this fun activity. Great fine motor skills and concentration skills.
I love how they turned out! We will do a similiar with marshmellows, making snowmen on BLUE.
They did some free art, on pumpkins with any type of craft medium they chose, and they were cute too- so I displayed them all October.
Fun right?!?! :)
Other activities were cooking COOKIES, CAKES and CHOCOLATES. Yummy yummy!!! They love the If you give a mouse a Cookie book. We also made more large C's and made caterpillars after tracing the c MANY TIMEs and then put on cute puff balls counting and making patterns with them.
